Anna Williams - finished and worn at Acosta!

Hello everyone!

Well this new post took some time, I'm so sorry! University was taking up most of my free time but I'm glad that reports, exams and presentations are soon over and that I'll have some more freetime again! (And play probably all of the time KH3 x//D I can't wait!)

But first: I'm finally finished with Anna! It took some time, but I made it! Unfortunately I couldn't wear her to Comiket as planned since I got very sick, so I was only able to wear the costume last weekend at the Acosta event in Ikebukuro ;__; I hope that I can wear her at summer Comiket instead (or maybe Animejapan?).

I will add some more progress in this blog later!

I'm very content on how the costume turned out. It has some mistakes and also some things which I want to change after wearing it now fully for the first time but all in all I'm very proud of the costume and I enjoyed wearing it! I like Anna as character very much and I love to fight with her, so it was a pleasure to be her for a day! Acosta is an event which takes place regularly in Ikebukuro and where you pay a fee to be able to take pictures in Ikebukuro at the venue or in some selected stores! It was actually pretty interesting for me to visit that event since many things were so very different from what I am used to in Germany.

First of all, all cosplayers come to the venue with their costumes in their suitcases and get dressed there. No cosplayer should come to the venue in cosplay. I bought my ticket in advance and also a ticket for my girlfriend since she was supposed to be my photographer that day. I got a small ticket which shows me as a cosplayer and she got a wristband which indicated her as a photographer. Usually photographers are not allowed into the dressing room but since I can't get dressed in my costume alone she was allowed to enter and help me. After I got dressed we went outside and a woman at the door was checking if my costume was appropriate for wearing it in the public. I was really afraid that my costume might not be appropriate enough because of many reasons but in the end everything was fine. I only didn't know that girls HAVE to wear tights. Even if you barely see them, you have to wear tights. This was a very new concept to me and I was glad that I brought my thin tights. The ones I ordered for the costume didn't arrive neither to Comiket nor to Acosta (but the monday afterwards 8'D), so we had to draw the ornaments on her leg on mine. I am glad that I have proper tights in my size now so I can finish those tights atleast!

Outside many cosplayers were standing next to each others and taking pictures. The whole day not even one of the cosplayers was talking to me but rather...watching. I felt a little uncomfortable. But some photographers were talking to me and taking some pictures and I am glad that we had a little chat with one who recognized the character and also liked the game! My costume seemed a little unique at that place since most of the other cosplayers were wearing costumes from currently very popular series (as Love Live or Hypnosis Mic) and barely from games or movies. I saw a Squall and Yuna from Final Fantasy and also a Deadpool and Kylo from Star Wars but...that's it. I think my costume fits better for wearing it at the Comiket at the end.
In the evening we took quickly some pictures and then went back to the dressing room again. I love how everything is so in order and well planned! During changing into costume and back you are assigned a little spot in a big hall and you can get dressed there. And even though it's so very full everyone is in their spot! I liked that very much <3

All in all I enjoyed the process of making this costume very much and I learned a lot of new things! Also I was able to learn some new ways on doing costumes and I am very happy that I decided to do this costume here in Japan! I hope I can wear this costume a lot : D

You can find the gallery with some pictures I already edited it on my homepage! Just click on this picture! <3

I actually don't know what the next bigger project might be. I plan on cosplaying Yut Lung from Banana Fish next but I would also like to do another costume while we are here in Japan. Let's see what it will be in the end!

ABOUT ME

Hello!

My name is Kristina, in cosplay better known as 'Maoh'.

I'm a cosplayer from Germany and sharing this hobby with many people worldwide since 2006.

I like to cosplay from games and anime and most of my costumes are  sewn by myself.
I really like to work on small details and give my costumes a personal touch! I always loved to surround myself with creative hobbies and cosplay makes it possible for me to be creative in so many different ways! Sewing, crafting, stitching, wig styling - I love doing everything of it with the bottom of my heart and wear the costumes with love on conventions or at photoshootings.

My second hobby is gaming and I really love to game a lot. My favourite series is FINAL FANTASY!

I hope you will like the progress and the pictures I am going to show here!
It's nice to meet you!
